29/09/2009 - A familiar face is back at Squash New Zealand. |
Former National Coach Dave Clarke has returned to the organisation, in an exciting new partnership with Sport Bay of Plenty.
Clarke, who left Squash New Zealand three years ago to pursue a new challenge, has been appointed to the new role of Coaching Director, while also continuing as Team Leader, Coaching at Sport Bay of Plenty. In his new role, Clarke has been tasked with developing the skills of aspiring squash coaches from around the country, so they in turn can bring the best out of their players. Squash New Zealand Chairman Jim O'Grady is thrilled to have Clarke back on board, and is immensely pleased with the new job share scheme with Sport Bay of Plenty. "It's fantastic to have Dave back with the organisation and it is obviously beneficial for both Squash New Zealand and Sport Bay of Plenty to have access to his skills." "This would not have been possible without Sport Bay of Plenty's agreement so we are very thankful to Wayne Werder and his team for their vision in seeing the potential this opportunity provides". Squash New Zealand is no stranger to job share roles, having also established a joint High Performance Manager role with Squash New Zealand and Bowls New Zealand.
Jim O'Grady expects the new arrangement to be just as fruitful. "As a sport and organisation we will need to continue to be innovative in our approach to HR Management. I would expect Dave Clarke to be a vital part of the set up in both Squash New Zealand and Sport Bay of Plenty for years to come".
