03/11/2009 - The World Squash Federation has appointed Chris Buckland as a referee for the XIX Commonwealth Games Squash Competition to be held from the 4th to the 13th October 2010 in New Delhi, India. Buckland is a current New Zealand Referee for Squash. |
This is the first time a New Zealand Referee has been appointed as a referee for squash at a Commonwealth Games. Buckland, who won the Referee's award at the 2008 New Zealand Senior Nationals will be a fine ambassador for squash and it is an extremely positive step forward for New Zealand's referees stepping onto the world stage.
Squash New Zealand is thrilled with Chris's appointment and congratulate's him and wishes him well in the lead up to the Commonwealth Games.
