Shuja just short of shock win over Selby

27/11/2009 - New Zealand's Kashif Shuja has fallen just short of a big upset in the opening round of the PSA World Squash Tour's Dutch Open in Rotterdam.
The unseeded kiwi has given fourth seeded Englishman Daryl Selby a serious run for his money, taking the world number 17 to five games in an epic 75 minute battle.

Twice Shuja led the match, winning the first and third games, but Selby dug deep to claw his was to a 12/14, 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 11-4 victory.

Selby is relieved to have made it through to the second round, praising Shuja for putting him under a lot of pressure.

"He's fantastically talented with the racquet and when he's pumped up for it like he was tonight he's really dangerous, he's taken some very big scalps".

Selby will face 8th seeded American Julian Illingworth in the quarterfinals.
