Squash NZ Coaching Update

10/12/2009 - Below is a coaching update from Dave Clarke, Coaching Director.
The last of the National Coaching Roadshows have been completed this week with stops in the Central and Wellington Districts.

The Road shows have enabled us to engage with over 150 coaches and administrators across the country introducing them to the New Coach Development Framework along with the opportunity to have input into the development of the final structures.

It has been extremely beneficial for a number of reasons not least for the innovations and ideas that have been provided but also for the overwhelming positive feedback that the concept has received.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to all of you who attended the workshops.

The timelines for the future are as follows

Fri 11th Dec Coaching Advisory Panel Meets
Jan/Feb 2010 Athlete Pathway, Coach Development Framework and Coach Module Strategies developed.
March 13th / 14th Coach Development Framework launched at NZ Coaching Conference (Venue TBA)
March onwards, module content developed and piloted.

The Advisory panel will determine the priorities for the development of the modules once the framework is finalized.

Also a reminder that we have many coaches out there who give a huge amount of time and effort to the squash community. If you get the chance this week say thanks and happy Christmas, they do a great job!!!!!

Kind Regards and Happy Christmas

Dave Clarke
Squash NZ National Coaching Director
