15/12/2009 - New Zealand's Kashif Shuja has won the eighth PSA World Squash Tour title of his career, with victory at the Spanish Open in Tenerife. |
The top seed has beaten Scotland's Alan Clyne in five games in the final, clawing his way back from 2-1 down. Shuja won the first game 11-7, but third seeded Clyne fought back to take the next two 11-6, 11-8 and led 6-2 in the fourth. However, the 30-year-old kiwi dug deep in his reserves to take the fourth 11-9 before eventually closing out the match 11-8 in the fifth. It is Shuja's first PSA Tour title since November 2007.
