25/02/2010 - The usually genteel world of collegiate squash in the United States has created national attention following a bizarre outburst by its No 1 player as Trinity College celebrated winning this year's national title. |
The incident occurred after 6 foot 5 inches Trinity senior Baset Chaudhry hit the winning shot against Yale's Kenneth Chan, a much smaller opponent, to help the college celebrate its 12th consecutive national squash team title at the weekend.
Filmed by local television, Chaudhry screamed into his opponent's face before Chan had time to extend his arm to congratulate his victor.
Chaudhry then left the court to celebrate with his ecstatic team-mates, but in another moment of madness prevented Chan from exiting the court.
