Crome calls it quits

A recurring hip injury has forced Louise Crome to call it quits in her international squash career
New Zealand's Louise Crome has called it quits on her international squash career.

The 31-year-old kiwi has been forced into retirement by a recurring hip injury, which has kept her off the court since December 2008.

Crome first joined the WISPA world squash circuit in 1997, reaching a career high world ranking of 22 in August 2008. However, she missed the entire 2003 season due to a wrist injury.

Crome says she is sad to be calling a premature end to her squash career, but is already planning her future off the court.

"I have one semester left to finish on my MBA in Wellington and then I will focus on a new career, although I'm not sure where or what that is yet.

"I am very excited about what the future holds".
