Hawkes halts Perry in Chennai

New Zealand's Jaclyn Hawkes has upset world number seven Madeline Perry in the opening round of the Chennai Open Champs
A big win for New Zealand's Jaclyn Hawkes at the WISPA World Tour's Chennai Open Squash Championships in India.

Hawkes is the only unseeded player to make it through to the quarterfinals, knocking Irish fourth seed Madeline Perry out in the opening round. The 27-year-old kiwi upset the world number seven in straight games, winning 11-8, 11-4, 11-9 in 40 minutes.

Hawkes will take on seventh seeded Australian Kasey Brown in the last eight.
