Squash NZ Coach Development Framework

15/03/2010 - Squash NZ are pleased to announce the new Strategic Coaching Plan, Athlete Pathway and Coach Development Framework. The plans have been developed by the National Coaching Director, Coaching Advisory Panel, National Coach, Sport and Recreation New Zealand and over 120 coaches from across the districts who contributed to the plans in a series of road shows nationwide.

The Coach Development Framework and Guiding Notes can be located under the coaching section on the Squash NZ Website.
These plans represent the future of Coach Development in New Zealand and will give coaches more opportunities to continually up skill themselves in their chosen area of coaching.

The framework is modular based and will be delivered regionally, giving districts flexibility in what is delivered to suit their needs. Please read the guiding notes for more details.

The framework modules and coach development materials and resources are already underway with the completion of the Get Started (Mod 1) and the Online Get Started (Ext 1a) and Safety Concepts (Ext 1b) expected to be early May. Under development after that will be the Small Nix community Mod 2 and 2a.

As development progresses contents of the modules will be posted on the Coaching Section of the Squash New Zealand Website.

Please note that this is an ongoing development process which will be put in place over the next few years, so please be patient as we look forward to a bright and exciting future in squash coaching.
