01/04/2010 - Squash New Zealand's World Junior Squad Member's, Megan Craig and Paul Coll took out the men's and women's titles respectively at the Marlborough Open last weekend.

The 17-year-old New Zealand junior squad member not only defended her women's crown but also added the men's open plate title on Sunday afternoon.
The men's open plate final was one of the highlights of the weekend with Craig overcoming Peter Flynn in five games. Flynn showed plenty of determination. Craig held match ball against him, up 14-8 in the fourth, but Flynn clawed his way back to take the game 17-15. However, it proved in vain as Craig's young legs prevailed, closing out the match in the fifth.
In the men's open final, top seed Grant Craig wasn't able to match his daughter's efforts, falling 1-3 to Greymouth's Paul Coll.
In a high-quality final, both players displayed plenty of speed, as shown in one rally where Coll fell over in the front, right hand corner and Craig hit what looked like a clear winner to the left back corner only for Coll to get to his feet, retrieve the ball and reply with the winner.
Coll used his quick reactions well while Craig used his exceptional knowledge to stay in the game and keep the pressure on his younger opponent, Coll eventually winning 15-5, 14-15, 15-13, 15-13.
