The top four seeds are all through to the quarterfinals in both the boys and girls draws at the NZ Junior Open |
A perfect day for the main title contenders at the New Zealand Junior Squash Open at the North Shore Squash Club in Auckland. The top four seeds have all won through to the quarterfinals without dropping a single game in both the boys and girls open draws. After a first up bye, boys top seed Paul Coll downed Wellington's Zac Millar 3/0 while second seeded Lance Beddoes, who won by default in his opening match, cruised into the last eight with a 3/0 victory over Waikato's David Dela Rue. Meanwhile, the top four seeds all had byes in the first round in the girls draw, with top seed Lana Harrison leading the charge into the quarters with a 3/0 win over Northland's Shontelle Goodhue. Second seed Megan Craig was equally impressive in her 3/0 victory over Auckland's Haylee Hughes while Amanda Landers-Murphy and Emma Millar were similarly untroubled in their matches. However, the match of the day saw Northland's Sacha Poutito win through to the quarterfinals with a 3/2 win over Auckland's Abbie Palmer, taking out the deciding fifth game 12-10. Results...
