There has been one major upset on day two of the New Zealand Junior Open at the North Shore Squash Club in Auckland. Top seed Lana Harrison has missed out on the spot in the final of the girls draw, after a shock 3/1 loss to defending champion Emma Millar in the semifinals. The fourth seed bounced back from a game down to win 6/11, 11/9, 11/8, 11/7. Millar goes through to the final against second seed Megan Craig, who completed a clinical 3/0 win over third seed Amanda Landers-Murphy. Meanwhile, second seed Lance Beddoes narrowly avoided an earlier than expected exit in the boys draw. Beddoes clawed his way back from 2/0 down against third seed Bryce Redman, to eventually win their semifinal 8/11, 10/12, 11/8, 11/6, 11/9. He will now face Paul Coll in the title decider, after the top seed edged out fourth seed Michael Sunderland 3/1. Full results Boys Quarterfinals 1.
