Grading List - Squash NZ












NZ Secondary Schools Championships 2010

15/04/2010 - This year the event will be held at Squashways, Riccarton and the Burnside Squash Club, Burnside, and another venue if required from August 6 - 8 2010.

Each of these venues is no
further than a 20 minute drive from Christchurch City.
Entry Information

- Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form.
- Cost per team is $135.00 incl GST. The cost for Co-ed schools entering a
boy's and a girl's team is $250.00.
- This includes the $10 NZSSSA Affiliation Fee.
- Late entries can only be accepted in exceptional circumstances and by
contacting tournament organisers.

Competition

- Separate Girls and Boys divisions.
- In any one match a team must consist of five players in order of playing
ability.
- Graded players must retain their graded order.
- Non-graded players must be placed in order of current form and ability.
- There is a maximum of seven players per team.

Conditions of play & player eligibility

- Team members must be current full time students of the school they
Play & Player they are representing and are under the age of 19yrs at 1 January 2010.
- Teams must be in strict order of playing ability. National squash grading
order must be preserved for graded players. Teams should use the Squash
New Zealand, 15 June 2010, grading list for seeding team members.
- Each team will play at least three matches.
- This tournament will be played under current New Zealand Squash rules
and where appropriate New Zealand Squash Teams rules.
- The standard tournament ball will be a Dunlop single or double yellow dot
ball depending on grade.

Player Information:

- Order of players: No. 1 Player = highest
No. 6 Player = lowest
- Graded players must preserve their grading order (e.g. E1 is above E2).
Any changes that affect a player's grade after the closing date for entries,
and before the commencement of the tournament, must be advised to
tournament organisers before the start date of the tournament.
- All entry forms must have grades and codes, or estimated points to the
nearest 100 points for every player.
- Non-graded players must be placed in order of current form and playing
ability. It is recommended that your local Squash Development Officer or a
local club statistician is co-opted to assist with the grading of non-graded
players.
- New Zealand Squash attire standards will apply at all times. Players are not
permitted to wear beach shorts, singlets, t-shirts without collars or caps.
Only non-marking soled shoes to be worn during competition.

Entry Forms are attached and are due Friday, 2 July 2010.

Merchandise:

A range of NZ Secondary Schools merchandise will be available to pre order
at www.squashways.co.nz from June. If you pre order early, it will be ready to pick up at the tournament. Orders will be taken at the event as well and couriered out the following week.

Programme:

Due to an agreement between NZSSSA and NZSSSC to sanction the New Zealand Secondary School Squash Teams Tournament outside of Winter Tournament Week, absolutely no activity is to take place on Thursday evening including games, meetings, and ceremonies.

This is an attempt to minimise disruption to students and their school timetables / assessments.
