Joelle King continues to conquer all in her way at the Pelorus Trust Wellington Open |
Rising New Zealand squash star Joelle King is one win away from adding yet another title to her tally. The world number 20 has strolled into the final of the Pelorus Trust Wellington Open, with a 3-0 win over fourth seed Megan Craig at the Mana Squash Club. The 21-year-old has already picked up three titles in the last four weeks. King will face second seed Tamsyn Leevey in the title decider. Leevey advanced with a 3-1 victory over third seed Lana Harrison. Meanwhile, top seed Martin Knight is on target to take out the men's title after a 3-0 win over surprise semifinalist Shane Johnston. As expected his opponent in the final will be fellow Wellingtonian Evan Williams, although the second seed had his work cut out in the semis. The 20-year-old fought for 65 minutes before overcoming third seed Josh Greenfield 3-2. Results... Women First Round 1. Joelle King (Waikato) def Rebecca Barnett (Wellington) 3-0 4.
