New Zealand's top two ranked players headline the billing at this weekend's ASB North Island Squash Championships in Hamilton.
World number 14 Jaclyn Hawkes and 20th ranked Joelle King are at opposite ends in the women's draw, with a mouth-watering clash in the final on the cards.
King has been in superb form in recent weeks, picking up four titles in the last five weeks on the domestic circuit. The 21-year-old is also one of the rising stars in world squash, climbing 33 places in the rankings in less than a year.
However, King will face a much tougher task with Hawkes in the field. The 27-year-old's last tournament outing was at the WISPA world tour's Cayman Islands Open in April, but she will undoubtedly be looking to stamp her authority on home soil.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's top two men's players are also entered in the tournament. World number 40 Campbell Grayson is the top seed and in good form after winning the Waikato Open and Remuera/Auckland Open in recent weeks. However, 42nd ranked second seed Martin Knight is also coming off a victory at last weekend's Wellington Open.
The ASB North Island Championships get underway tomorrow night.
