Joelle King has stamped her authority on the New Zealand squash scene with a stunning victory at the North Island Championships in Hamilton. The 21-year-old has beaten world number 14 Jaclyn Hawkes in straight games in the final, storming to a comprehensive 11-4, 11-6, 11-3 win. It is King's fifth title in six weeks on home soil and a continuation of the top form she has been showing on the WISPA world tour which has resulted in a career high ranking of 20 on the latest list. Meanwhile, top seed Campbell Grayson has taken out the men's title after a gruelling five game battle with second seed Martin Knight. Just two places separate the two players in the world rankings and it showed as 40th ranked Grayson edged home 6-11, 12-10, 13-11, 5-11, 11-8 over 42nd ranked Knight. Results Women Final 2.
