The New Zealand team has been named for the Junior Men's World Championships
in Ecuador at the end of July.

The four strong squad has a good spread geographically with Auckland's Lance
Beddoes joined by Cantabrian Paul Coll, Eastern's Bryce Redman and Michael
Sunderland from Southland.

New Zealand high performance coach Anthony Ricketts says all four have
earned their place in the team with some top performances in recent months.
Ricketts says he is confident they will do New Zealand proud in Ecuador.

Northland's Tate Matson has been named as the non-travelling reserve.
Ricketts says Matson has also been playing well and can count himself
unlucky to have been in the running when there have been four players in
such good form ahead of him.

The Junior Men's World Championships are in Quito from July 27 to August 7.

New Zealand team:

Lance Beddoes (Auckland)
Paul Coll (Canterbury)
Bryce Redman (Eastern)
Michael Sunderland (Southland).

Player bios:

Lance Beddoes started playing squash as a 9-year-old in 2002 and quickly
established himself as a star for the future when he won the Auckland Junior
Age Group title in 2003. He has since gone on to four national age group
titles, two national junior team titles, one senior national team title and
finished 9th in the senior national champs last year.

Paul Coll is a talented sportsman who followed his parents into squash,
first picking up a racquet as a 4-year-old. He made his tournament debut as
a nine year old and has represented Canterbury at age group level every year
since 2001. His big breakthrough came in 2008 when he won the South Island
Championships and in 2010 he became the New Zealand Junior Champion.

Bryce Redman also has family pedigree, following in the footsteps of his
father who was a long-serving district representative in Hawke's Bay.
Redman starting playing as a 6-year-old and has a multitude of titles to his
name including the South Island Junior Championships at under 13, under 15
and under 17 age group level. He will try to add the under 19 title to his
tally this year.

Michael Sunderland picked up a racquet as a 9-year-old in 2002 and made his
first representative appearance the same year at the South Island Age Group
Champs. However, it was another five years before he picked up his first
major title, winning the under 15 section at the South Island Age Group
Champs. Since then he has added another South Island title and a North
Island title to his tally and has twice finished runner-up at the NZ Age
Group Champs.
