11/08/2010 - The National Secondary School Squash Championships were held at Burnside & Squashways clubs last weekend with 41 schools from throughout New Zealand. |
In Boys draw defending champions Christchurch Boys High defeated 2nd seeds Palmerston North Boys three matches to one, with 5th seeds Palmerston North girls beating 3rd seeds Epsom Girls Grammar in a close tie three matches to two in the girls section.
Ruapehu College won the boys plate with Whangarei Girls winning the girls plate.
The best overall Co-ed school went to Te Puke High School, with the boys team finishing 6th and the girls team 3rd.
At the prize giving the annual tournament team was named for their performances over the tournament.

Girls: Danielle Fourie (Palmerston North), Ella Dromgool (CGHS), Charvae McLean-Woon (Wanganui), Taylor Favell (Epsom Girls), Brooke Dexter (Palmerston North), Jorja Tarrant (Waikato Diocesan).
