13/08/2010 - Twenty seven New Zealanders are soon to depart these fair shores for combat in the Northern Hemisphere. |
|
Below is a report from Masters Director Wayne Seebeck.
The daily accounts of the trench warfare they will be engaged in should be posted on the "World Masters Squash 2010" website. Many of them will be continuing their foray into the dark and devious arts of their attack methods and defence mechanisms in the idyllic township of New Plymouth in October, and will welcome further homegrown opponents. To facilitate the maximisation of this event's potential, could all districts put in their best effort to field a team and create a better competition than recent years. Districts should link with each other because I am aware of some players who are playing in the individuals and wish to be a part of a team also. Wellington especially, it is time to return to the fold given the proximity of the host club relative to your windy city.
Even though the 2011 Masters is in Nelson (Wellington District) maybe you also consider hosting the 2012 event, because being in another island is a point of difference and Wellington is economical to fly into - just a thought.
