Australian Lisa Camilleri has taken out the WISPA Tour title at the Central Open in New Plymouth |
Australian Lisa Camilleri has upset the form book to take out the Central Squash Open in New Plymouth.
The third seed has toppled top seed Christina Mak from Hong Kong in the final, winning 9/7 3/9 9/3 9/5 in 59 minutes. The world number 45 also accounted for second seeded fellow Australian Donna Urquhart in the previous round.
It's Camilleri's fifth title on the WISPA World Tour.
Meanwhile, second seeded Wellingtonian Willie Bicknell has won the men's event, beating Central's Anthony McLeod 9/5 9/4 3/9 9/3 in the final.
McLeod had previously knocked top seed Nathan Sneyd out of the semifinals in a five game thriller.
