24th New Zealand Secondary Schools Squash Teams Tournament 2008
Information Three
Dates: Friday, 15 August to Sunday, 17 August 2008
Venues: Kawaroa Park Squash Club (Tournament Headquarters), Tisch Avenue, New Plymouth Inglewood Squash Club, 21 Elliot Street, Inglewood Waitara Squash Club, Browne St, Waitara Okato Squash Club, Upper Kaihihi Road, Okato New Plymouth Boys High School, Hobson Street, New Plymouth
Entry Fees: - Entries fees to be paid by Thursday, 31 July 2008 to Kawaroa Park Squash Club, PO Box 526, New Plymouth. - Cost per team is $115.00 incl GST. The cost for Co-ed schools entering a boy's and a girl's team is $220.00. - This includes the $10 NZSSSA Affiliation Fee.

Grading: - Graded players must retain their graded order. - Non-graded players must be placed in order of current form and ability. - Teams must provide to the organising committee, grades and points to the nearest 100 of ALL non-graded players by Thursday, 31 July 2008.
- The 1 August 2008 Grading List will be used to finalise individual players points, and the seeding of teams and players.
- The FINAL DRAW will be available after 1 August 2008.
Changes to team composition and playing order after this date must be presented to the organising committee as early as possible (preferably via email and before the managers meeting), and at the latest, at the managers meeting.
Competition: - In any one match a team must consist of five players in order of playing ability. - There is a maximum of seven players per team.
Conditions of - This tournament will be played under current New Zealand Play & Player Squash rules and where appropriate New Zealand Squash Eligibility: Teams rules. - Team members must be current full time students of the school they are representing and be under the age of 19yrs at 1 January 2008. - Teams must be in strict order of playing ability. National squash grading order must be preserved for graded players. Teams should use the Squash New Zealand, 15 June 2008, grading list for seeding team members. - Each team will play at least three matches. - The standard tournament ball will be a Dunlop single or double yellow dot ball. ‘A' and ‘B' grade players may play with a Dunlop double yellow dot ball provided both players and team managers/coaches agree.
Player - EYEWARE IS COMPULSORY! Information: - No iPods, Mobiles, PSPs etc while umpiring or scoring! - New Zealand Squash attire standards will apply at all times. Specifically, players are not permitted to wear beach shorts, singlets, t-shirts without collars, or caps. Only shoes with non-marking soles are to be worn during competition. - New Zealand Squash court etiquette will apply at all times. Specifically, there will be no swearing, loss of temper or questioning of umpires' decisions. - The principles of Fair Play will be endorsed at this tournament, and all participants are expected to abide by the ‘Principles of Fair Play'. - This tournament is a smoke, drug and alcohol free tournament.

Trophies: Winning teams from last year, Auckland Boys Grammar (Boys) and St Cuthbert's College (Girls), are required to return the trophies and have them tabled at the managers meeting to be contested for again in 2008.
Safety: ALL SCHOOLS MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN FIRST AID KITS INCLUDING ANY PRODUCTS FOR MUSCULAR / JOINT / LIMB SUPPORT OR RELIEF, AND ANY MEDICATION REQUIREMENTS.
Programme: Due to an agreement between NZSSSA and NZSSSC to sanction the New Zealand Secondary School Squash Teams Tournament outside of Winter Tournament Week, absolutely no activity is to take place on Thursday evening including games, meetings, and ceremonies. This is an attempt to minimise disruption to students and their school timetables / assessments.
