07/-8/2008 - New Zealand has suffered another defeat at the Junior Men's World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. |
The ninth seeded kiwis have been upset 2/1 by 12th seed USA, and will now take on eighth seeded Hong Kong in the playoff for 11th place.
Keegan Burkhart got New Zealand off to a winning start, beating Alex Domenick 9/3 9/8 10/8.
However, Evan Williams and Cameron Jamieson were both beaten in straight games, to hand the kiwis their second defeat of the knockout rounds.
New Zealand and Hong Kong have already squared off at the World Champs, with the kiwis winning 2/1 in the Pool H decider.
