BOP and Auckland share spoils at SuperChamps

Bay of Plenty and Auckland have dominated the titles at the SuperChamps Graded Club Nationals
Auckland and Bay of Plenty have been the dominant forces at the 2008 SuperChamps National Graded Club Championships over the past week.

The two districts have picked up three titles each in the annual battle for national club supremacy from B-Grade through to F-Grade, while Wellington and Central have claimed two titles each.

The Katikati men's C Grade team, Te Puke women's D Grade Team and Tauranga men's E Grade team all picked up titles for the Bay, while the Herne Bay women's C Grade team and Eden Epsom men's and women's F Grade teams all came out on top of their events.

But the biggest celebration may well be reserved for the Tawa Squash Club in Wellington, with the club's B Grade women's team winning the title by the narrowest of margins over the Panmure team from Auckland. The two sides drew the final two-all and were still all square after a countback of games won. In the end Tawa won by one point, in a countback of points won by the four players in each team.
