Martin Knight has outlasted Campbell Grayson in a five game thriller at the National Capital Open in Washington |
A thrilling victory for New Zealand's Martin Knight in the quarterfinals of the PSA world squash tour's National Capital Open in Washington.
Knight has beaten eighth seeded fellow kiwi Campbell Grayson in an epic encounter, battling to an 11-7 6-11 11-7 6-11 11-5 victory in 91 minutes. It's his second upset of the tournament, after beating fourth seeded Mexican Arturo Salazar in the opening round.
The world number 72 will face second seeded American Julian Illingworth in the semifinals. Illingworth, the world number 42, earned his place in the last four with an 11-7 11-8 2-11 11-4 victory over sixth seeded Egyptian Yasser El Hallaby.
