Shelley Kitchen has won yet another WISPA title in Malaysia, winning the NSC Series #4 event in Kuala Lumpur |
A stunning victory for New Zealand's Shelley Kitchen at the WISPA Tour's NSC Series #4 Squash Championships in Kuala Lumpur.
The second seeded kiwi has clawed her way back from two games down in the final against top seed Vanessa Atkinson, to beat the former World Champion in a 63 minute, five game thriller.
Kitchen looked set for a straight games defeat after losing the opening two games to the Dutch star, but the world number 13 refused to lie down, surviving three tie break games to win 8-11 2-11 13-11 14-12 13-11.
It is Kitchen's third NSC title in Kuala Lumpur in the space of a month, and the 15th WISPA Tour title of her career.
The 29-year-old now gets the chance to grab yet another title in the Malaysian capital, lining up as third seed in the NSC Series #5 event this week.
