14/08/2009 Today SquashGym PN experience the first rounds of the New Zealand Secondary School Squash Competition. |

After round one the top 13 boys teams held their seedings with local PNBHS 1 team progressing through and holding their space at number 3. Top seed Christchurch Boys High had a bye first round but will meet 16th seed St Kentigern College in the second round being played out tonight. Auckland Grammar 1 weren't wasting any time, stamping their authority going through to the next round only dropping 3 points out of a total of 135 points overall.
The girls draw saw, Waikato Diocesan School for Girls also having a bye first round and will meet local regional representative, Hawera High School who were seeded 9th who pulled through the first round to beat another local regional school, Wanganui High School. PN Girls High went through to the second round only dropping one match against Westlake Girls High School seeing a match up with ex-Central Squash player Paige Wilkes against local Central and New Zealand squad member Danielle Fourie, with Danielle being the stronger contender winning 3/0.
Second rounds tonight began at 5pm and 8pm and play due to start again tomorrow morning from 8am.
