The 2017 Fitzherbert Rowe Lawyers New Zealand International Classic PSA Draws have been set and there will be players from all over the world descending on the SquashGym Palmerston North courts Tuesday 6th June to try and claim the titles. This year the event will see a $10K Men’s and a $5K Women’s event as the second PSA event in the NZ PSA series.
The Women’s draw sees Amanda Landers-Murphy (WR#55) as the top seed and after her grueling five setter against Megan Craig at the Gibson O’Connor North Shore Open and PSA she will be looking to go two events in a row. Landers-Murphy has drawn Craig to play in the first round after Craig has seen her ranking slip to 144 in the world meaning this first round is sure to be exciting. Jessica Turnbull (WR#77) of Australia takes second seed of the event and will play a qualifier in the first round. Samantha Foyle (WR#89) of Australia is seeded third and will play local wildcard player Kaitlyn Watts in the first round of the event. Andrea Lee (WR#92) of Malaysia rounds out the top 4 players and she is set to face a qualifier in the first round as well.
In the Men’s draw Peter Creed (WR#63) of Wales is the top seed where he is due to face a qualifier in the first round. Angus Gillams (WR#70) of England takes on local wildcard player Scott Galloway in the first round who will be looking to push Gillams in a familiar environment. Greg Lobban (WR#74) of Scotland Is the third seed of the event draws a qualifier in round 1. Mahesh Mangaonkar (WR#75) of India rounds out the top 4 where he has to face Joe Green of England in round 1.
