Coll Moves To Career High And King Also Up One Place

New Zealand squash professionals, Paul Coll and Joelle King have both risen a place in the latest monthly PSA world rankings released today.

Twenty-five-year-old Coll from Greymouth is up to a career-high ranking of No.9 after second round results at the US Open and Channel VAS Championships during October.

The top ranked men’s player remains Frenchman Gregory Gaultier.

Cambridge’s King has improved one place on the women’s ranking, also to No.9

Over the past month 29-year-old King made the final of the Carol Weymuller Open and the semifinals of the US Open.

The women’s No.1 ranked player is Nour El Sherbini of Egypt. There are four Egyptians in the women’s top 10 and six in the men’s top 10 rankings.

The next tournament for Coll and King will be the World Series, Hong Kong Open, November 14-19.

There were improvements from most other Kiwi internationals as well - notably Abbie Palmer making the top 100 for the first time at no.93 in the world. Kaitlyn Watts pushes up to 125 - a rise of 23 spots from last month after two PSA events in Australia. Kiwi no.2 and World Doubles Champion Amanda Landers-Murphy moves up two spots to no.41 as well.

In the men's list the seniors held strong where as the younger pros made their moves up the ranks after the Australian events as well. Scott Galloway rises to 207 and Luke Jones to 175.

The Kiwi players featuring in this month's ranking are: Paul Coll and Joelle King at no.9, Campbell Crayson 37, Amanda Landers-Murphy 41, Evan Williams 87, Lance Beddoes 103, Abbie Palmer making her top 100 debut at 93, Megan Craig 111, Emma Millar115, Kaitlyn Watts career high of 125, Ben Grindrod 133, Anika Jackson 155, Luke Jones 175, Nadia Hubbard 186, Scott Galloway 207, Zac Millar 291 and Sion Wiggin 338.
